What we often get asked

And let me tell you, when it comes to weddings, planning a wedding or looking for on-the-day coordination, there are no silly questions.

QUESTION TIME

1️⃣ What does a wedding planner actually do?

A bit of everything, if I’m honest! I can help you find suppliers, manage budgets, create timelines and pull all the details together. Essentially, I deal with the organisation, questions and occasional chaos so you can enjoy planning your wedding.

2️⃣ What is on-the-day wedding coordination?

You plan the wedding and I make it happen. I manage the set-up, suppliers and timings, answer everyone’s questions and quietly sort out any problems behind the scenes. You get to enjoy your wedding without being asked where the cake knife is.

3️⃣ Do I actually need a wedding planner?

Probably not! Plenty of couples plan brilliant weddings themselves. However, if planning is taking over your life—or you don’t want to spend your wedding day checking timings and directing suppliers—having some professional help can make everything much easier.

4️⃣ My venue has a coordinator—do I still need one?

Maybe, but it depends on what your venue coordinator covers. They normally look after the venue and its team, whereas I work directly for you. I bring together your suppliers, timings, décor, personal details and guests. We work alongside one another, but we have different jobs.

5️⃣ What’s the difference between full planning and on-the-day coordination?

Full planning means I’m involved from the earlier stages, helping with suppliers, budgets, styling and logistics. On-the-day coordination is for couples who are happy to plan everything themselves but would like to hand it over when the wedding arrives.

6️⃣ How much does wedding planning cost?

It depends on how much support you need. BODA offers full planning, partial planning and on-the-day coordination, with prices listed on the Services page—no mysterious “contact us for a price” nonsense.

7️⃣ Do you travel outside Glasgow?

Absolutely! I cover weddings throughout Scotland, including cities, castles, countryside venues, islands and coastal locations. I’ve even travelled as far as Orkney for a wedding, so it takes more than a long drive and a ferry to put me off!

REMOTE ADMIN & OPERATIONS SUPPORT

1️⃣ What remote admin support do you offer?

All the important behind-the-scenes jobs that businesses need done—but often don’t have the time or desire to do. This can include managing enquiries, chasing quotations and invoices, conducting final-detail calls, preparing event briefs, checking bookings and keeping calendars and records updated.

2️⃣ How many hours of support can I book?

As many or as few as your business needs. It could be a few hours each week, regular daily support or some extra help during your busiest periods. We’ll agree the hours and priorities beforehand, so there are no surprises.

3️⃣ Do you only work with wedding businesses?

No. My background is in hospitality, weddings and events, so I naturally understand those businesses well. However, I’m happy to support other businesses that need an experienced and reliable person to keep their admin under control.

4️⃣ How much does remote admin support cost?

The rate is £19 per hour, invoiced by BODA Event Management Ltd. You only pay for the hours agreed—nice and straightforward.

5️⃣ Will you need access to our systems?

Possibly, depending on what you need me to manage. I can work with your existing inbox, booking system, calendar and documents while following your procedures and confidentiality requirements. I promise not to judge the state of your inbox!

6️⃣ Can you learn our systems and procedures?

Absolutely. I’m happy to provide some initial in-house training free of charge so I can learn how your business works before providing ongoing remote support.

7️⃣ What experience do you have?

I’ve worked in hospitality, weddings and events since 2014. I’ve run hotels, worked at a wedding venue in France and held management and operations roles within two catering companies. I also run BODA Event Management, providing wedding planning and on-the-day coordination across Scotland—so I understand what busy event businesses are really like behind the scenes.
